Synopsis

The story takes place at Fairview Preparatory High School. Discipline representative Kevin Whitmore and troubled student Ian Ramirez are archrivals known throughout the school. Kevin comes from a wealthy family, ranks first in his class, and is the model student in the eyes of his teachers; Ian skips class, gets into fights, and is defiant and rebellious. The two are constantly at odds over school rules in the hallways and at the school gates. Ian skips class not out of a desire to play, but to work and earn money for his seriously ill mother’s medical bills. Driven by financial necessity, he signs up for a paid chat app, where he meets a gentle and generous mystery patron named K.W.—unaware that this person is actually Kevin. As a child, Kevin had gotten lost while fleeing a quarrelsome home, and it was Ian who helped him; ever since, Kevin had secretly harbored a crush on Ian for years. But his past experiences of being bullied by wealthy students had left Ian harboring hostility toward all rich people, and he saw Kevin as nothing more than an arrogant, privileged young master. During the day at school, the two were at each other’s throats; at night, Ian poured out his sorrows to K.W. The school assigned Kevin to tutor Ian one-on-one. Kevin diligently tutored him and quietly looked after the exhausted Ian. The two gradually grew closer: Kevin protected Ian when he was bullied and helped him apply for medical assistance; Ian, in turn, stood by Kevin as he struggled under the weight of family pressures and helped him break free from the shackles of his “perfect” public image. Ian mistakenly believed he had fallen in love with both the real-life Kevin and the online K.W. at the same time, plunging him into inner turmoil. Once the truth was revealed, he let go of his anger and embarrassment, realizing that he had always truly loved the same person. The former adversaries became lovers, finding mutual redemption through their bickering and mutual support.
