Synopsis
The protagonist was once a top female mob boss who dominated New York City. Heartbroken after her husband was killed protecting women and children in a shootout, she relinquished her leadership and retired to a slum in a small New Jersey town. To save enough money for her unborn daughter's tuition at an Ivy League school, she worked as a dockworker for years, enduring hardship and humiliation. Then, her daughter was drugged, murdered, and assaulted at summer camp by the son of a corrupt cop and the daughter of a mob boss. When the protagonist tried to report the crime, she was violently expelled by the police, who had been bribed by the mob.
