Synopsis

Sarah discovers that her husband, Daniel, has betrayed their marriage—secretly carrying on an affair with his assistant, Beth, and fathering an illegitimate son. Even more cruelly, to cover up the scandal and preserve his reputation, Daniel swaps his own biological daughter with Sarah for his illegitimate son. Beth subsequently abandons the infant girl in the freezing wilderness, leaving her fate—whether she lived or died—unknown. Consumed by the rage of having her daughter stolen, Sarah outwardly exercises immense restraint, feigning total ignorance of the truth; she even takes Daniel’s illegitimate son under her wing and raises him as her own. For eighteen years, while playing the role of a submissive wife and devoted mother, she secretly orchestrates a meticulous scheme, ensnaring both Daniel and Beth in a trap of her own design.
