Synopsis
Ji Qiu overhears her arranged fiancé Zhou Mingxuan and his mother plotting to marry her solely to seize the huge inheritance left by her late mother and save their debt-ridden Zhou Group. Her biased father and stepmother favor her elder sister Ji Yurou, who detests her own rural arranged fiancé Jiang Ze. They scheme to swap the sisters’ marriages, forcing Ji Qiu to wed the country boy instead. Ji Qiu pretends resistance but secretly agrees, desperate to escape her cold, unloving family. Dressed in wedding robes, Ji Qiu is sent to Binhai Village. There she meets Zhao Fangfang, Jiang Ze’s childhood sweetheart, who reveals Ji Yurou’s wedding date with Jiang Ze was supposed to be early next year. Her family rushed Ji Qiu’s marriage to keep her out of Ji Yurou’s way, crushing Ji Qiu’s last hope for her household.
