Synopsis

When they were children, Mu Wanqing and Gu Tingxiu were betrothed to each other by Mu Wanqing's master and Gu Tingxiu's grandmother. As they grew up, Mu Wanqing, the heir of the Xuanmen sect, descended the mountain to fulfill the marriage contract with Gu Tingxiu, hoping to change her own impoverished fate and also to save Gu Tingxiu's life. However, she was met with rejection from Gu Tingxiu. Gu Tingxiu's grandmother, Chen Shuhua, firmly supported the marriage, while his younger brother, Gu Tingxuan, initially wanted to help his brother drive Mu Wanqing away. However, after Mu Wanqing saved his life using a protective talisman, he willingly accepted her as his sister-in-law. Gu Tingxiu's friend, Ye Haoran, a national agent, was surrounded by enemies during a dangerous mission. In a critical moment, Mu Wanqing used a puppet substitution technique to save his life, and from that point on, he recognized her as his master. His sister, upon hearing about this, sought out Mu Wanqing through Gu Tingxiu, and with her guidance, was able to avert the danger to her second son’s life. Gu Tingxiu was saved twice by Mu Wanqing, and during the second rescue, she even took a knife for him. Deeply moved, he began to recall their childhood memories. Once Mu Wanqing recovered, the two of them finally achieved their destined union.
