Synopsis

"Tears of Pitaya is a dramatic family story full of paternity tests, layered‑identity twists and ethical conflicts set in Fruit City. Pitaya, a gentle‑natured young lady from a wealthy family, marries Banana in a grand cathedral wedding. Their seemingly perfect high‑status marriage quickly falls apart after Pitaya gives birth to a purple baby eggplant. Enraged, Banana believes his wife has cheated on him, and public opinion turns sharply against Pitaya. She loses the court case, gets divorced and is driven out of the luxurious Banana mansion, forced to wander on the streets with her infant. As the plot unfolds, buried family secrets gradually come to light. Mr. Eggplant, their seemingly harmless next‑door neighbour, turns out to be the mastermind behind the whole disaster. He is Lord Apple’s illegitimate son and Banana’s half‑brother. What shocks everyone more is that Banana is not a real banana at all. He is an apple baby swapped decades ago to save the Banana family’s power and reputation. Granny Blue, the old housekeeper who knows all past truths, struggles with guilt and finally decides to uncover the hidden conspiracy. It is also revealed that Pitaya herself is not an ordinary orphan — she is the long‑lost daughter swapped in a baby‑exchange incident years ago. Mr. Eggplant frames Pitaya by drugging her and forging legal documents, aiming to seize the Banana family’s fortune for himself. Suffering from public shaming and homelessness, Pitaya does not yield. With help from Granny Blue and Nurse Berry, she collects surveillance footage, forensic handwriting reports and old birth records. She brings solid evidence to court, exposing Mr. Eggplant’s crimes including fraud, forgery and intentional harm. The villain is arrested and brought to justice. Though Banana feels deep remorse and begs for reconciliation, Pitaya refuses to resume their marriage, for she cannot forget the pain of being wrongly accused and abandoned. In the end, Pitaya opens a small pitaya‑juice shop and builds a peaceful new life with her baby. Yet a subtle hint at the closing scene suggests more untold secrets may remain about the child’s bloodline."
