Synopsis
Jace Ayne is Duke Ayne's biological son. He appears to have no magic, no swordsmanship, and no talent. He spends his days drinking and partying, dismissed by everyone as a useless noble. But a month earlier, when the Demon King's vanguard reached the Empire's frontier, Jace revealed himself as the Ember Knight. With arcane runes and golden lightning, he single-handedly wiped out a horde of demon dragons and killed their commander, Blake. When the elven High Mage Volker attacks the military camp to avenge the elf humiliated at the tavern, Jace meets him beneath the moon. One bolt of lightning splits the sky, and a massive axe shatters Volker's golden tree giant. Meanwhile, Woden, the Empire's top general, and Chief Mage Elton hunt for the mysterious Thornblade, while Jace's adopted brother Javier secretly plots to seize the dukedom. After receiving a conscription order, Jace enters the military camp, still hiding his true identity. The Empire's strongest has worn the mask of a failure all this time. When the Demon King awakens, Jace will finally step out of the shadows.
