Synopsis
Eleanor Prescott, head of the powerful Prescott family, fakes blindness after a car accident to lure out the family traitor, presenting herself as cold, promiscuous, and cruel. Her stepmother Serena, coveting the family fortune, bribes Claire—a debt-ridden nursing graduate—and sends her to Eleanor's bed as a spy. Claire arrives in fear and shame, but finds Eleanor is not the monster rumors make her out to be. The two strike a secret deal: Claire stays as a private steward and becomes a double agent planted beside Serena. Through their ambiguous testing of each other, their arrangement slowly turns into genuine love. But Serena colludes with Eleanor's faked-death uncle Colin, staging a fire and kidnapping Claire to force Eleanor out. At the critical moment, Eleanor reveals she was never blind, works with her assistant to subdue Colin, and brings the villains to justice. In the end, Eleanor confesses everything to Claire, and the two reconcile, embracing a sweet happy ending.
