Synopsis

Ella and Kane are childhood sweethearts from wealthy Los Angeles families. Ella loves Kane deeply, but Kane sees her only as a sister and favors a poor girl named Liya. At eighteen, Ella's father dies and her mother Claire falls ill with heart disease. When Kane needs a kidney, Ella secretly donates one to save him. She begs Kane's mother Victoria to keep it a secret. Liya steals credit for the donation and fakes a pregnancy. She is secretly with Kane's cousin Jasper. After a fake miscarriage, she abandons Kane and flees. Kane blames Ella and resents her. Victoria forces Kane to marry Ella. After marriage, Kane is cold to Ella. A year later, Liya returns and fakes pregnancy again. Kane wants a divorce to marry Liya. Ella learns she is pregnant but catches Kane and Liya together in her bed. Kane denies the child is his and serves divorce papers. Liya's accomplice, a doctor named Erin, trips Ella, causes her to miscarry, and leaves her unable to have children. Ella signs the divorce papers. Ella moves her mother to a new care facility and reunites with Noah, a cardiologist and old friend. Noah protects them. Jealous, Kane threatens to cut Claire's medical funding unless Ella returns. Liya stages another fake miscarriage and blames Ella. Claire slaps Liya. Liya plays victim. Kane threatens to jail Claire. To protect her mother, Ella ends up in a mental hospital. Liya and Erin destroy a matching heart for Claire's transplant. Claire kills herself to free Ella. Victoria wakes from her coma and exposes the truth: Ella was the donor; Liya's pregnancies and miscarriages were all fake; Liya conspired with Jasper; Erin helped destroy the heart and caused Claire's death. Kane begs forgiveness. Ella refuses. With Noah's help, Ella fakes her death. Kane believes she is gone and lives in regret. Erin, Liya, and Jasper are punished. Noah takes Ella abroad. They marry, have a child, and live happily.
