Synopsis

The Obsidian Hotel on an isolated island along Oregon's coast has seen people disappear over the past two decades. Crime reporter Iris Blackwood infiltrates the night shift as a front desk clerk to uncover the truth behind her mother Eleanor's disappearance nineteen years ago. From childhood, she can "see" the final moments of the deceased, her pupils dilating when touching their belongings. The hotel's regular, Kael Voss, only appears at night, without a shadow, his wrist scar never healing. "Getting close to me is dangerous." He was dangerously silent, yet always stood in front of her when she was in danger. The hotel owner, Ashford, is a respected philanthropist who greets every guest with a smile—some of whom never leave. Iris infiltrates the mirror world through her mother's diary: the Voss family's blood can both open and shatter mirrors, with something older than the hotel imprisoned beneath them. On the night Ashford fell while saving people, the entities in the mirrors resurrected through corpses. After the Mirror of Origin shattered, Kael dispersed, but only the Anchor Mirror remained intact.
