Synopsis

Forensic accountant Valentina Serrano falls into a forbidden romance with Dante Moretti, heir to a mafia family, only to accidentally discover an execution order signed by her lover to have her killed. To facilitate a merger of family powers, Dante Moretti pretends to plot Valentina’s murder to appease the allied marriage family, yet he secretly devises a plan to protect her and never intends to harm her for real. Years later, Valentina Serrano joins the Financial Crimes Division of the FBI and is assigned to reinvestigate the Moretti family’s crimes. Dante Moretti detects an ambush laid by the Volkov crime syndicate, an outside mafia faction. He takes great risks to tip Valentina off before turning himself in voluntarily, surrendering all of his family’s financial evidence in exchange for a reduced sentence. During his long years behind bars, Dante achieves redemption and writes a letter of confession. Meanwhile, Valentina fully heals from her past trauma, taking independent and unshakable control of her own life and finally making peace with that fateful love fraught with deception and torment.
