Synopsis

Kitchen Van Gogh ENGLISH ONLY — Episode 1 SYNOPSIS 2 AM. The kitchen light is still on. A-Qing is forty. Twenty years of painting, not a single sale, three months behind on rent. His mother, Lin Wanqiu, is sixty-five, and her porridge takes three hours to cook — the most ordinary mother alive. That night, he sees her standing at the easel with her back to him, her posture far straighter than it ever is by day. An old but perfectly steady hand sweeps out swirling impasto brushwork. Beneath a deep-blue night sky: a city's lights, coiled into a burning spiral. "The porridge is still warm. Go back to bed." She turns, takes off her reading glasses, and kindness turns to a blade: "Forty years in Europe. They called me... The Nightingale." Three museums. Two continents. Zero arrests. That is the urban legend of the Nightingale. And then a message lights up the screen: "You owe us one last painting. — V" For the first time, his mother looks afraid. "They found me. After twenty years... they found me." A-Qing is silent for three seconds. Then he rolls up his sleeves and takes the brush from her hand: "Then teach me. Everything. Starting tonight." At dawn, an envelope slides under the door. Inside is a photograph of a nightscape oil painting — and in its lower corner, a tiny signature. A nightingale. (Season 1, 8 episodes. This is Episode 1.)
