Synopsis
In 1980s Calhoun, a poor mother named Anna was raising money for her deaf daughter Lexi's special education expenses when her gambler husband, Tom, stole her hard-earned savings. Anna unexpectedly discovered that Tom, in order to claim a $500,000 accidental death insurance claim, had conspired with his mistress, Karen, to burn her and Lexi alive. Desperate, Anna fought back, teaming up with righteous policewoman Ella and her daughter to expose the truth behind the insurance fraud, murder, and arson. Ultimately, they cleared her name and regained their freedom with Lexi.
