Synopsis

"While on a business trip, Qiao Fei walks into her hotel room to find Huo Linghan, who has been drugged by his scheming stepmother. They cleverly work together to escape danger, but the drug's effects lead to an unplanned night together. The next morning, Qiao Fei is furious but, seeing how handsome he is, decides to forgive him. She tosses 500 dollars on the bed as ""payment"" before rushing to the hospital to see her sick mother. Intrigued by the woman who paid him, Huo Linghan investigates her. He discovers she's desperately trying to raise 300,000 dollars for her mother's life-saving surgery. Meanwhile, Huo Linghan's own family is pressuring him to marry. Seeing a perfect opportunity, he finds Qiao Fei at the hospital just as her stepmother is forcing her to marry a sleazy man for the money. He pays the medical bills and offers his own deal: a contract marriage. Believing he's just a poor guy on the run, Qiao Fei gratefully agrees, only to discover her new ""broke"" husband is actually the most powerful CEO in the empire."
