Synopsis

Twenty-seven-year-old Ava Collins works as a publishing house proofreader. She buys a vintage tape recorder from a struggling old record store in New York. At midnight on the very same day, the recorder automatically plays an unrecorded voice message. A trembling unknown man speaks to her, warning her not to take the 8:10 subway the following morning. Ava dismisses it as a prank at first, yet she hesitates and misses the train, which suffers a severe accident just as predicted. Every midnight, the recorder activates again. The man calls himself Liam, revealing he is her husband from a future timeline. He tells Ava they will meet for the first time at Central Station on October 17, fall in love and get married within half a year. But one day after their wedding, they become trapped inside a burning aging building. Ava sacrifices herself to push Liam clear of collapsing debris and loses her life. Grief-stricken after Ava’s death, Liam spends three years developing equipment capable of transmitting audio messages back to the past. His only plea to Ava: never go to Central Station, never meet him, and never fall in love with him. Torn between obeying the warning to survive and the irresistible pull toward the mysterious man from the future, Ava struggles with fate.
