Synopsis

There’s a joke going around the Hunter’s Guild lately. Word is, S-Rank Hunter Isa is playing nursemaid to a sickly half-blood—one who needs to be carried everywhere, hand-fed, and cuddled during thunderstorms. The Guild Elder pulled me in for a chat, tactfully suggesting that I "shouldn't extend humanitarianism to non-human species." I told him he’s not non-human. He’s a half-blood. He’s half human. The Elder opened his mouth to argue, then thought better of it. That very night, somebody ripped the roof right off the Elder’s house. No one saw who did it. But they found a necklace dropped at the scene—the one I’d given Arwen, the one he always wears against his skin.
