Synopsis

My Skiing Rival centers on Noah, a rigid, homophobic elite freeski runner, and Ilya, a wild, obsessive Russian-American backcountry skier who has fixated on Noah for six years. As bitter competitive rivals, I constantly provokes Noah to break his cold, self-restrained shell. A sudden avalanche traps them alone in a remote wooden cabin for days. Isolated by harsh snowstorms, Ilya’s possessive, borderline violent affection overwhelms Noah’s physiological repulsion, triggering endless clashes, hidden soft moments and suppressed longing. Traumatized after their escape, Noah retreats from skiing while Ilya lingers around him. Forced to collaborate on a snow sports documentary, they repeatedly confront past trauma, unpack their broken childhood wounds, and gradually tear down the walls of hatred and self-denial, achieving painful, mutual emotional healing atop snow-capped peaks.
