On Christmas Eve, I Decided to Leave Him

Synopsis

Lucille Radford was a brilliant rising‑star dancer with a glittering future ahead of her. Five years ago, to save Cedrick Maynard, she got permanently lame on her leg. Driven by overwhelming guilt, Cedrick proposed marriage. But for five long years, they shared a house but never real intimacy. Lucille endured it all: the newlywed home designed to perfectly match Cedrick's first love, Maricela's ideal, his instinctive rejection of her disabled legs, and his friend's mockery of her limp. But on their fifth‑year wedding anniversary, Lucille overhears Cedrick in the bathroom, moaning Maricela's name while pleasuring himself. The last shred of Lucille's self-deception was shattered. Cedrick tried to make up for his guilt with money and gifts, but he refused to offer even a shred of genuine affection. Time and again, Maricela played the innocent card and sowed discord, yet Cedrick always took her side and defended her. Lucille finally saw the truth clearly. She would no longer be trapped in a marriage built on atonement; she was determined to break free from this cage of guilt. In the past, she had clipped her own wings for him; this time, she would fly again for herself.
