Synopsis

On her fifth wedding anniversary, 32-year-old architect Evelyn found herself caught in the midst of a global zombie virus outbreak. She was trapped at home with her husband, Julian, and her best friend, Celeste. However, her husband and best friend had been having an affair for a year, and even before the apocalypse, they had staged a “brake failure” accident in an attempt to kill her in a car crash. The arrival of the apocalypse disrupted their plan, but it also provided them with a cleaner way to kill her: they would wait until she went out to scavenge for supplies, then eliminate her. That night, as Evelyn stepped out onto the balcony of their high-rise apartment in Manhattan, Julian and Celeste worked together to push her off the balcony into the thick of the zombie horde, leaving her to be torn apart by the swarm. Evelyn was reborn amidst excruciating pain, transported back to one month before the apocalypse broke out. She didn’t cry or make a scene; she simply and calmly changed the security codes in her home, contacted a lawyer to transfer all her pre-marital assets to her mother’s name, and then began stockpiling supplies.
