Synopsis

In his previous life, Richard realized on his deathbed that his wife, Tinley, and her daughter, Farah, never truly loved him. Carrying this awakening, he was back to life, seven years into his marriage. This time, he decided to let go, to step aside for Tinley and her childhood sweetheart, Ronald, and devote himself to the medical research career he had abandoned before. Returning to the lab, he baked a cake for Farah's birthday, only to find her celebrating with Tinley and Ronald, who shoved his cake to the floor. Later, while dropping Farah off at kindergarten, he saw the research institute on fire. Remembering the lost data from his previous life, he rushed in to save it, only to find Tinley had also run in—for Ronald. Heartbroken after the fire destroyed the institute, Richard finalized the divorce and followed his professor to the research institute in Stwon to study brain cancer. There, a young patient named Carol mistook him for her father. While helping Carol to the hospital with her aunt, Melissa, they grew close. After he left, Ronald's cooking sent Farah to the hospital with food poisoning. Filled with regret, Tinley rejected Ronald's advances. Learning of Richard's whereabouts from his parents, she repeatedly brought their daughter to Stwon to beg for his forgiveness. Richard immersed himself in research. With outdated equipment, Melissa connected him with her aunt, who faxed crucial data and offered him a spot for advanced study at her overseas lab. He decided to go, and Melissa accompanied him abroad. Ten years later, Richard returned as a successful researcher. As he and Carol arrived at the institute's apartment, both Melissa and Tinley were there, holding flowers to welcome him home.
