Synopsis

Annie Ye is a mixed-race China expert of Chinese descent. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, she holds an almost spiritual devotion to traditional Chinese culture. On her grandmother’s deathbed, Annie learns that her true roots lie in China and inherits a century-old family opera house—the Soul Summoner's Theater. Upon returning, she discovers that this historic venue, a living archive of cultural memory, is on the brink of demolition. The tech conglomerate "K Group" is using a combination of AR visual masking and urban digital renewal initiatives to force its erasure. In this moment of crisis, Annie unexpectedly awakens a hereditary gift: the ability to summon the spirits of historical icons at the cost of her own life force. To save the theater and the heritage it embodies, she teams up with Huaizhou Xie, a brilliant AR engineer who was plagiarized and blacklisted by K Group. Together, they transform the opera house into a global cultural livestreaming hub, channeling the souls of legends like Li Bai, Li Qingzhao, Zhuge Liang, and Zhang Zhongjing to confront Ling Shuo’s technological suppression head-on. This is far more than a simple clash between the supernatural and technology. It is a global battle over cultural identity, civilizational legacy, memory versus erasure, and tradition versus the future.
