The 180,000 Road Repair Controversy

Synopsis

Lin Zhiqiu spent 180,000 yuan out of his own pocket to build roads in his hometown, but because a villager, Wang Changgui, overloaded vehicles and damaged the road, he was falsely accused by the whole village of cutting corners and was forced to pay for vehicle damages, fertilizer costs, and even an annual road maintenance fee. Disheartened, he tore down the road he had built at his own expense and presented the legal deed his father had bought for the road land years ago, reclaiming the land that had been occupied for so long. The greedy villagers even teamed up with a fraudster, Ma Qiming, to raise funds for a "beneficial agriculture project," only to lose all their savings in the scam. Lin Zhiqiu then turned to help the honest Shiqiao Village, building cold storage and an agricultural base, and his business flourished. Meanwhile, the people of Qingyun Village ended up with broken homes and no path forward, finally realizing that good and evil always have consequences.
