The Goddess in My Kitchen

Synopsis

Claire Dawson is barely holding together Ember & Thyme, the diner her grandmother left behind, when her seven-year-old daughter Sophie dies in a hospital after her father withholds the surgical deposit. Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, descends from Olympus, revives the child’ s body, and stays inside it—bringing divine fire, an uncanny gift for cooking, and no memory of Sophie’s life. As mother and goddess rebuild the ruined diner, their soup goes viral, drawing the attention of Claire’s predatory ex-husband Grant and his partner Vivian, who steal recipes, poison a supply chain, and push a dangerous child-testing product. Hestia exposes the scheme, but every burst of divine power makes her borrowed body fade. Meanwhile, Sophie’s true soul is stranded at the edge of the underworld. Claire uncovers Grant’s betrayal and crosses the gate with Hestia, refusing to trade one daughter for the other. Hestia finally splits her sacred flame to guide Sophie home, returns to Olympus, and leaves Claire with a family held together by food, memory, and a kitchen light that never goes out.
