Insulted at a charity ball when her foolish brother gave her custom gown to their maid's daughter, the female chairman instantly froze every credit card funding their lifestyle.

Synopsis

Serena Windsor, chairman of Windsor Group, is twenty‑eight years old. Seven years ago, when her father retired, she took over a debt‑ridden company and, through exceptional management, quadrupled its revenue. Her younger brother James, idle and aimless, conspires with Ruby Ruan—the daughter of the family’s former nanny—in an attempt to seize control of the family. At a charity gala, Ruby wears Serena’s custom‑made gown and publicly declares, “The Windsor family will belong to James sooner or later,” while James himself insults Serena in front of the guests. Serena remains calm, announces in public that she will never accept Ruby into the family, and immediately freezes all of James’s bank cards. James rushes to the family estate to plead with their father Joseph, only to learn that the inheritance rights had already been signed over to Serena long ago. Her fiancé, Miles Snow—heir to Snow Capital—sides with Ruby at the banquet; under pressure from his father Richard, he chooses his family over Serena, but she firmly rejects him with the words, “It’s too late.” Unwilling to accept defeat, Ruby contacts real estate tycoon Marcus Webb in an attempt to launch a commercial attack on Windsor Group. After verifying the information, Marcus tells her that all the data are outdated by seven years and refuses to cooperate on the spot. Ruby then sends a letter to the board accusing Serena of forging the inheritance documents; Serena personally visits Ruby’s apartment and informs her that the law firm had already given prior notice, leaving Ruby with no room to maneuver. Linda is formally dismissed, and mother and daughter leave in disgrace; Ruby hands over her keys and departs the country, admitting defeat. James eventually finds a job through his own efforts, is confirmed ahead of schedule, and uses his first week’s salary to buy Serena a cup of coffee. Serena graces the cover of The Wall Street Journal, and Joseph personally buys a copy, beaming with pride. In the morning light, Serena stands before the floor‑to‑ceiling window and declares, “The Windsor family answers to me.” Yet Ruby’s exit may not truly settle the undercurrents, and how Miles’s unresolved ties with the old family factions will affect the future of Windsor Group remains an open question…
