THE OUTCAST Heir's War

Synopsis

The old-money American Voss family. Elias, the eldest son, was the undisputed heir apparent. An email authorizing a three-hundred-million-dollar transfer bore his signature, and no one would listen to his explanations. Two security guards dragged him out of the building. Standing in the heavy rain, he lifted his gaze and whispered: Mother, I have not shamed the Voss name. That same night, he got a number: fifty-one. On the fifth anniversary of their mother’s death, full voting rights would automatically pass to the eldest son. Fifty-one days remained. He moved into a cramped ten-square-meter attic room, left with only the family signet ring his mother had bequeathed him. A six-digit code engraved inside the band unlocked a recording titled *To My Eldest Son*. Their mother had split her bequest into two parts: the ring for him, and the other half held by the family’s senior archivist. Over those fifty-one days, he unearthed old records one by one: server logs altered three times, proof he was on a flight to Zurich the night of the transfer, and a forged family seal. Injunctions and seal orders could not stop him. On the fifty-first day, he laid the seal mold, timestamps and his mother’s final recording on the table. Eleven hands rose one after another. His younger brother was taken into custody on the tarmac. A year later, he founded the Eleanor Fund, lending money to people with gaps on their resumes. The day before his wedding, he visited his brother in prison. He spoke the name no one had uttered for three years, on their mother’s behalf, and handed back the trust he had safeguarded for five years: When you get out, come claim it. I will not sign for you. You sign it yourself.
