Synopsis

Li Yingzi, who has finally earned a place at university, becomes the target of her village’s backward superstitions. The villagers, convinced she is the cause of a recent earthquake, want to sacrifice her to rid themselves of the “disaster star.” With her mother’s protection, Yingzi escapes, fleeing to the city. Five years later, now successful and accomplished, Yingzi returns to her backward mountain village, determined to change the minds of those who once tried to destroy her future. But can she overcome the deep-rooted ignorance of her people, or will her past haunt her every step?
