Synopsis

The male protagonist, Ye Chengyuan, comes from a poor family but excels and is accepted into a top university, with a bright future ahead. However, his mother, Su Zhenhong, suddenly falls seriously ill, and the family urgently needs money. To raise funds, his father, Ye Weimin, arranges for Ye Chengyuan to be adopted by his maternal grandfather, Su Jiefang, and Ye Chengyuan's surname is changed to Su. An agreement is made to reveal the truth after the protagonist graduates from university. Later, Ye Chengyuan's uncle, Su Zhendong, demands repayment of a $500,000 loan, and Ye Weimin's family is forced to sign an IOU. The village chief, jealous of Ye Chengyuan's academic success, creates trouble for the Ye family. Ye Weimin, through drinking, manages to retrieve $30,000 from the village chief to cover his son's tuition. After completing his studies, Ye Chengyuan returns home, seeks justice for his parents, and restores the family's honor, returning triumphantly to his hometown.
