Synopsis

Hydrologist Marina empties her inheritance and takes on high-interest loans to build a solar irrigation system, tapping an underground aquifer to rescue drought-stricken Oak Haven County, Texas. She charges only a low maintenance fee, yet local tycoon Miller leads residents to refuse payment. He defames her, sabotages facilities and reports her to authorities. Crushed by penalties, Marina demolishes all water infrastructure, seals the well and leaves. The county soon collapses without water, losing federal drought subsidies. Desperate, Miller and the townsfolk beg Marina — now a senior state water official — for aid. Marina returns with a ruthless acquisition contract: the town must hand over 30% equity, mortgage all farmland and accept a 15-year profit split. Cornered by bankruptcy, they sign. Using contractual and capital leverage, Marina rebuilds the water network, dominates the agricultural chain and exacts retribution on her betrayers.
