Synopsis

Master Cheng, on the brink of death, pleaded for the reclusive master physician Zhuo Yichen to emerge from seclusion to save him. However, Zhuo Yichen found himself obstructed at the Cheng family's gates by their private doctor, Wen Ji, who went out of her way to obstruct him with relentless hostility. Unyielding, Zhuo Yichen intervened decisively, saving Master Cheng's life and, as a result, being granted the hand of the Cheng family's eldest daughter, Cheng Bailing, in an arranged engagement. Yet, this act also ignited a bitter personal feud between Zhuo Yichen and Wen Ji. Later, when Zhuo Yichen revealed the truth to Cheng Bailing—that his medical prowess stemmed not from conventional knowledge but from a soul-possession technique, a mystical method in which his soul temporarily inhabits the body of another—the specter of death began to creep silently into their lives.
