Synopsis
"Thirty years ago, Bai Lanzhi, a young woman from Haivan Village, rescued a shipping king who had fallen into misfortune. They pledged their lives to each other, but after she became pregnant, the shipping king set sail and never returned for thirty years. Bai Lanzhi waited a lifetime for her lover in vain. Under the scornful eyes of the village, she gave birth to her daughter alone and, in the same year, rescued an abandoned infant from the snow, adopting him as her foster son. Thus began thirty long years of hardship and struggle. Thirty years later, with the sounding horn of a massive ocean liner, Zhou Zhenbang, the great shipping king of Daxia, finally returns, determined to find his wife and make amends. Meanwhile, the grown foster son has become a gambling, ungrateful wretch who, to repay his debts, sells Bai Lanzhi and her daughter one after another. While fleeing, Bai Lanzhi finally reunites with the shipping king. Yet, through a twist of fate, Zhou Zhenbang mistakenly believes the ungrateful foster son is his own biological child and lavishes him with compensation, unaware that his true daughter, Bai Xueyin, is now trapped in dire circumstances..."
