Too Ugly for Him? Wait Until He Sees Me
Synopsis
My Oscar-winning dad and Grammy-winning mom only saw me as an unwanted ugly daughter, calling me "toad" and dumping me with Grandma Maggie. Eighteen years later, I got into Harvard and came home wearing a mask. Dad frowned: "What are you hiding that ugly face for?" Mom laughed, saying I'd only look worse standing next to pretty Sienna. Sienna took my hand, saying beauty is a burden and that I was "lucky to be ugly." My hand froze. Grandma wrote me every month, saying I grew prettier by the day, that boys surrounded me, and she sent photos. But my parents never opened a single letter—they had no idea what I had become.
