Supported by the upright elderly Marquis, she secures justice and reclaims her dignity. Plot Summary Married for three years, Shen Yun constantly suffers dowry losses from motherinlaw Zhou Shi. Zhou assigns her the birthday banquet yet only gives two taels, hoping Shen Yun will cover costs with her private dowry. Shen Yun cannot afford the upscale restaurant feast. Zhou feigns illness to avoid her request for more funds, and her husband Zhao Chong tells her to “make do with two taels”.
