Synopsis

Jackson, a 58-year-old low-level cleaner with twenty years of service, hits rock bottom after suffering dual humiliations: his wife’s infidelity and abuse from a corporate executive. His life changes when he accidentally activates a "Value Restoration Scanner" left by his grandfather—a device capable of restoring the true worth of anything (or anyone) dismissed as "junk." Starting by monetizing restored refuse, he uncovers a buried royal energy facility and gathers damning evidence of the executive’s embezzlement and schemes against the working class, effectively overturning the building's power structure within 24 hours. Along the way, he teams up with Selina—a young woman from a family of guardians—to battle a ruthless capitalist antagonist, ultimately exposing a plot by the centenarian Council Chairman to devour the city's energy supply. Embracing the guardianship mission bequeathed by his grandfather, Jackson rejects a position of high power to become the city's "Gatekeeper," protecting the value of ordinary people. This is a satisfying fantasy short drama featuring a middle-aged underdog's comeback, the transformation of "waste" into treasure, and a stand against capitalist oppression.
