Synopsis

Police officer Lu Ming goes undercover in the drug syndicate “Dark Fire” under the alias “Leopard,” quickly earning the trust of its ruthless leader, Shan Xiao. Seven years earlier, Lu Ming was forced to break up with his lover Su Tang in order to carry out the mission, enduring years of humiliation and isolation while buried deep inside the criminal organization. One night, after drinking heavily, Shan Xiao accidentally reveals that the true mastermind behind the syndicate is wealthy businessman Zhou Tianhao. Lu Ming risks everything to secretly pass the information to the police, only to realize it may be a trap. To prove his loyalty, he publicly attacks a police officer and helps Zhou Tianhao escape, but is ultimately captured by Su Tang herself. Working together with his superior Li Jianguo, Lu Ming stages a brutal self-injury escape to clear suspicion and preserve his cover, while beginning to suspect there is a mole inside the police force. After the traitor Wang Zhigang is exposed, Lu Ming’s identity is nearly uncovered. Shan Xiao then forces him to kill Su Tang as proof of loyalty, but Lu Ming refuses even at the risk of death. Meanwhile, a small-time dealer known as Lao San secretly tips off the police. Su Tang cleverly frames another syndicate member, “Scorpion,” buying Lu Ming more time. Later, Lu Ming is rescued by lower-ranking gang members who despise drugs and reunites with the police. In the end, using the intelligence Lu Ming risked his life to obtain, the police successfully destroy the entire Dark Fire syndicate. After surviving countless life-and-death trials, Lu Ming returns to the force and reunites with Su Tang, finally stepping back into the light while holding firm to justice.
