Synopsis

After losing both parents, Gu Qingqing transfers to Xiguang Middle School to take care of her mute grandmother. By chance, she is assigned to sit beside Chu Yan, a so-called troubled student. Gu Qingqing carries vivid memories of their unfinished love from her past life: they confessed their affection to each other as she played the qin under a peach blossom tree, swore eternal love amid fireworks on his birthday night, yet she ultimately received news of his death and ended her own life by drinking poison to follow him. Meanwhile, Chu Yan quietly resolves all her troubles and even learns sign language to communicate with her mute grandmother. Once the man who murdered Chu Yan’s mother is brought to justice, he confesses his love to Gu Qingqing by the sea, and they vow to officially date after graduating high school. From high school through university and all the way to marriage, they walk hand in hand through every passing season, turning plain ordinary days into soft, warm years. At long last, they fulfill the love that was cut short in their previous life.
