Synopsis
After surviving a year in the apocalypse, Elena goes out to find food and returns only to be betrayed by her husband Leon and his family. Leon and his lover Lena are expecting an illegitimate child, and when a zombie horde attacks, the entire family conspires to push Elena to be eaten. Elena is reborn 20 days before the outbreak and resolves to take revenge while staying alive. She saves Marcus, the heir of the Vance Group, in exchange for funding to build a bomb-resistant fortress and stockpile massive amounts of supplies and weapons. She decisively divorces Leon and exposes his affair and scheme for money. Elena warns people about the disaster, but researcher Hugh slanders her in the name of fame and profit. Mutant giant rats carrying the zombie virus sweep through New York, marking the beginning of the apocalypse. Leon's family runs out of options and tricks the soft-hearted director into entering the fortress to steal supplies, and after their crimes are revealed, they are despised by all survivors. Lena suffers a mental breakdown after a miscarriage, kills Leon and his mother, and then takes her own life. Supported by Elena’s resources, Professor Sean develops a zombie vaccine. Elena serves as the district enforcer protecting survivors and repels large zombie hordes. Two years later, the vaccine goes into mass production, the disaster ends, and Elena receives the highest honor in the city, finally ending up with Marcus.
