In the Great Yong Dynasty, Yan Tingfeng, the noble son of loyal Duke of Zhenguo, sees his whole family framed for treason by scheming Prime Minister Zhao Fengxian and arrogant Crown Prince Xiao Chengqi. Spared from execution thanks to public pleas from common people, he is exiled to Northern Sea, a frigid, desolate border penal camp. Upon arrival, Lin Kui, a military captain under the crown prince’s order, humiliates and tries to murder Yan Tingfeng. While fleeing, Yan Tingfeng falls into a long‑forgotten Mohist secret chamber. He obtains the ancient Mohist mechanical inheritance. A jade pendant housing Luoying, the jade spirit child, becomes his magical guide, and he gains three powerful combat puppets (tiger‑headed, leopard‑headed and boar‑headed). His bones and meridians are reforged, restoring his martial power. Yan Tingfeng leads the puppets to kill Lin Kui and three elite armored assassins sent by the crown prince. Enraged by his nephew’s death, Deputy General Lin Dayong brings troops and three ferocious giant grizzly bears for vengeance. With the divine Hidden‑Dragon Staff bestowed by Luoying, Yan Tingfeng slays Lin Dayong and the bears. His brutal deeds draw the attention of Shen Changce, upright Grand General of Northern Sea. Shen knows the Yan family is wronged. He chooses to shield Yan Tingfeng behind a superficial punishment and lets him stay in the border army. Witnessing grain shortages and corrupted fiscal appropriation from the capital, Yan Tingfeng applies Mohist technology. He diverts geothermal heat to plant cold‑resistant high‑yield Xuan Shuang rice and reclaims barren wasteland, turning the frozen frontier into a prosperous land. He also builds a mechanical‑based intelligence network. The crown prince and prime minister keep sending assassins to eliminate him. Failing repeatedly, Zhao Fengxian colludes with northern barbarian Khan Tuoba Gui to launch border invasions. He even hires skilled Lu Ban mechanical heirs to build top‑grade puppets to stir up civil unrest and assassinate Yan Tingfeng. Teaming up with Mohist descendant Su Tang, Yan Tingfeng sets up Mohist grand formations and defeats the Lu Ban craftsmen in a spectacular mechanical battle. The treacherous court forces set another deadly trap, ordering Yan Tingfeng to fight 100 000 barbarian troops with merely 2 000 soldiers. Yan Tingfeng takes the risky mission and defeats the enemy in the northern desert. Infuriated, Khan Tuoba Gui marches 300 000 troops against Northern Sea. Yan Tingfeng activates giant Mohist mechanical beasts and crushes the massive barbarian army. Instead of receiving rewards for great feats, Yan Tingfeng is charged with ruining foreign relations and summoned back to the capital for punishment. Furious over the in
