Synopsis

Forensic anthropologist Vera overhears her husband altering the time of Sarah's death. She retrieves case files and evidence, proving that Ian accepted bribes to falsify autopsy reports and used his own skeletal analysis to protect the murderer. Vera secretly preserves evidence and, under the guise of training, takes her children to live abroad.Using her cranial reconstruction skills, she anonymously reports the crime, reopening the investigation. She subsequently appears in court, presenting evidence of altered records, leading to Ian's suspension. Following the trail, Vera collaborates with the FBI to dismantle Carlson's forensic fraud ring, resulting in Ian's imprisonment and the revelation of the truth about Sarah's murder by her boyfriend.Vera subsequently founded a women's forensic support organization to help female forensic pathologists who face discrimination and abuse, expanding her work to multiple countries. Ian passed away shortly after his release from prison, and her daughter Emma followed in her mother's footsteps, becoming a forensic pathologist. Vera spent her later years in seclusion by the sea, passing away peacefully at the age of 92. Emma inherited her mother's legacy, writing books to uphold her belief that "bones don't lie, truth is paramount."
