Synopsis

The protagonist, Wang Xiaolang, is a small-town angler, known in the fishing world as the "Air Force King" (a nickname for someone who never catches fish). He usually makes pocket money by repairing fishing rods at his grandfather's old rod repair shop.He encounters the Green Carp King at the reservoir, who breaks his rod and then, still on the water's surface, flicks its tail as if mocking him. Stimulated by this humiliation, Wang Xiaolang seeks out the retired fishing legend, Meng Sangou, as his master. He learns the "Anti-Fish King Fishing Technique" and studies the "personality weaknesses" of the fish king. Ultimately, he successfully lands the Green Carp King. Just as he believes he has become a master angler, Meng Sangou informs him that he has only scratched the surface of the true art of fishing...
