Synopsis

Island Guesthouse tells the story of Esme, a thirty-five-year-old British woman who runs a guesthouse on a Caribbean island. One day, she discovers that a new guest, “Elizabeth Smith,” has buried dozens of letters in the yard—all addressed to Esme’s husband, Victor. The letters reveal that Victor had once had his exwife, Ilian, forcibly committed to a psychiatric hospital. After escaping, Ilian returns to the island, determined to confront Victor. Esme chooses to side with Ilian, helping her flee the island and reuniting her with the daughter she lost—Lily. As the truth comes to light, Victor’s violent nature is exposed, and he is eventually arrested and imprisoned. Esme and Ilian take over the guesthouse together, transforming it into a safe haven for women fleeing domestic abuse. The series centers on themes of female solidarity and selfredemption, showing how three women support each other through hardship and reclaim their freedom. Renamed “Ilian’s Home,” the guesthouse becomes a symbol of hope and new beginnings—its doors always open to those in need.
