ISLAND SURVIVAL: I WON’T PUT UP WITH SANCTIMONIOUS TEAMMATES

Synopsis

Li Gensheng, a corporate janitor from a rural background, is an invisible man in the city’s workplace. Everyone takes advantage of him at will, and no one shows him respect. Long looked down upon and pushed aside by office elites, wealthy clients and internet‑fellow colleagues, he is treated merely as menial labour. A sudden shipwreck sinks their luxury yacht. Risking his own life, Li Gensheng single‑handedly pulls four female colleagues aboard to safety on the shore. Yet instead of gratitude, he receives nothing but brutal class prejudice and human cruelty. Stranded on the island, the four privileged women cling to their sense of superiority. They scorn Li Gensheng’s humble origins and low‑rank job, claiming it is simply his duty as a “lower‑class worker” to save them. They mock, ostracise and belittle him at every turn, stubbornly refusing to acknowledge his worth even in the face of mortal danger. These four urban women, armed only with education, good looks and vanity, have no wilderness survival experience whatsoever. Rendered completely helpless on the desert island, they shrink from hardship and fatigue. Self‑centred and prone to tantrums, they complain and shift blame whenever trouble strikes. Unable to source fresh water, build shelter, avoid hazards or find food, they repeatedly walk into life‑threatening predicaments — heatstroke, exposure in torrential rain, venomous snake attacks, poisoning from wild fruits and deadly high tides. Li Gensheng, raised in the countryside and well‑versed in farming and wilderness survival skills, finally gets to show what he is capable of on the uninhabited island. He locates fresh water on his own, builds weatherproof shelter, catches fish for food, gathers medicinal herbs to treat injuries and illness, reads the sky to forecast tides and an incoming super typhoon. Again and again, his solid capabilities pull the group back from the brink of death, as he builds and safeguards their only viable lifeline and safe haven.
