Spare Parts Wife
Synopsis
The powerful CEO Elliot, in an attempt to save his beloved Serena—who suffers from a chronic autoimmune disorder—used a medical database to identify women labeled as "socially vulnerable" (those with no family or support system and facing financial hardship), then disguised himself as a romantic partner to marry one of them, intending to use her as a donor for an organ bank. The female protagonist, Mila, had donated blood 17 times over the course of her three-year marriage; however, one kidney was surgically removed from her under anesthesia. Upon waking, she discovered that she was the "Anonymous Donor Patient X." Awakening to her true identity, Mila leveraged her legal expertise—as a law school dropout—to pursue her revenge: she gathered evidence, waged a strategic public relations campaign, assembled a coalition of victims, and passed the bar exam. Ultimately, she sent both Elliot (for 32 years) and Serena (for 24 years) behind bars, then opened her own law firm and took the stage in Washington. Once discarded as a mere spare part, she transformed her scars into proof of her survival.
