Synopsis

In the eyes of outsiders, Gina is a criminal from the slums, charged with serious crimes including counterfeiting, financial fraud, and the murder of her adoptive father, Humphrey; yet in her own mind, she is a renowned philanthropist with a fortune of 100 billion. A sudden trial plunges her into a vortex of cognitive collapse; her career, connections, and philanthropic record—which she had relied on as proof—are all found to lack any substantiating evidence, as if her entire glamorous life had been completely erased. In reality, she lives in a luxurious villa, has a violent and paranoid personality, and is accustomed to deriving a sense of security from controlling others. Meanwhile, recurring nightmares erode her sanity day and night: a yellowed, sealed room; the phantom of her adoptive father chasing her endlessly; and eerie phenomena constantly appearing in the villa. As the illusion continues to crumble, a cruel truth gradually emerges: the butler Brooke and her abusive adoptive father, Humphrey, are actually one and the same—a phantom born of her inner demons. The mansion, the wealth, and the high-society lifestyle all stem from Gina’s self-hypnosis. Having suffered abuse as a child, she constructed a complete, elite fantasy world to escape her trauma after killing her abusive adoptive father. At the trial, with ample witness testimony and physical evidence, just as she was on the verge of a breakdown, John—whom she had imprisoned—unexpectedly appeared. Yet this glimmer of hope was still merely a product of her delusion; everyone dismissed him as a figment of Gina’s madness. The trial, redemption, and escape were all scripts woven by her prison. Even as she desperately sought proof and struggled to resist, she could not escape the cage forged by her inner trauma. Ultimately, reality crumbled completely, and the prison cell transformed into a familiar yellow illusion.
