The Don Left Everything to a Kitten

Synopsis

Single mother Hazel works at a restaurant in Brooklyn with her five-year-old daughter, Bobby. Her Black Taoist mentor, Sebastian, frequently visits her for coffee, and the three of them develop a close bond. When Bobby saves a little orange kitten, Sebastian funds its treatment and designates Bobby as the legal owner of the kitten. Shortly thereafter, Sebastian's car explodes, and he declares himself dead. At his funeral, his will is read aloud: his entire estate—4.2 billion—is placed under trust for the kitten "Meatball Princess," with Bobby as the beneficiary and Hazel serving as the executor; should the kitten die before Bobby reaches adulthood, the estate shall pass to Carlo. Envious of this inheritance, Carlo and his wife team up with Salvador—a senior member of the family who orchestrated the explosion—to poison the kitten and bribe Bobby's father in a bid to seize custody. Bobby finds himself in grave danger. At this critical juncture, the feigned-dead Sebastian secretly intervenes, joining forces with Hazel and Tank to rescue Bobby; meanwhile, Serena regains her sanity and surrenders the evidence. During a committee meeting, Bobby exercises her voting rights as the legal owner of the kitten, exposing Salvador's conspiracy. Sebastian is arrested for forging his death certificate, and Hazel uses the evidence to secure a settlement agreement for his release. After his release, he re-establishes the trust, continues to leave the estate to the kitten, and proposes to Hazel—bringing the family back together in harmony.
