Synopsis

This is the story of Li Qiang and Zhao Lei, once sworn brothers whose lives diverged sharply over conflicting business philosophies. After Li Qiang uncovered that his business partner Zhao Lei had falsified accounts and embezzled profits, he left in anger with the 48,000 yuan that rightfully belonged to him. He started out at the remotest stall in the market, adhering to honest business practices and strictly controlling product quality. He carved out a niche with distinctive produce including misshapen strawberries and branded honey “Honey Li”. His business flourished steadily, and he eventually built a modern fruit industry group that grew into the province’s leading agricultural enterprise. Driven by greed, Zhao Lei cut corners by selling inferior goods to swindle customers, which got him banned from the market. Desperate to recoup his losses, he borrowed high-interest loans for gambling and was scammed over supply purchases. In the end, debt collectors broke his left leg; his family fell apart, and he became a homeless man scavenging through trash bins. The two cross paths by chance on a street, their fates forming a stark, brutal contrast. Their experience profoundly illustrates the core truth of business and life: integrity is the fundamental foundation of all success.
