The Return of the Hidden Heiress

Synopsis

Mercer BioTech is a long-established medical technology company in Seattle that specializes in hospital data systems, telemedicine devices, and an AI-powered medication audit platform. Eleanor Mercer is the company’s true founder; her husband, Richard, only joined the management team later. After Eleanor was involved in a car accident, Richard and his mistress, Vanessa, forged a medical power of attorney, forcing her to sign over her shares while she was bedridden, and had the hospital execute her DNR order prematurely. Three-year-old Evelyn witnessed the entire incident and was chased by Vanessa’s bodyguard, Frank Ward, but was fortunately rescued by a teenager named Noah Carter. Twenty years later, Evelyn returned. She first presented her mother’s trust documents and property deeds to reclaim the Mercer Estate. Then, exploiting a system vulnerability she had discovered in advance, she legally initiated an emergency cybersecurity audit during a board crisis, securing her place on Mercer BioTech’s executive team in one fell swoop. Her stepsister, Chloe Mercer, believing Evelyn had returned only to claim the house, teamed up with her boyfriend, Trevor Hayes, to frame her for “attacking Trevor” at a dinner party. Evelyn countered by releasing the cooperation agreement Trevor had signed and the full surveillance footage, causing Chloe to collapse in front of everyone.
