The Runaway Madam

Synopsis

"Luo Sheng and Xia Yunqiu are close friends, with Luo's family funding Xia's education. After rescuing the wounded Marshal Gu Yanqing on a train, Luo Sheng receives his jade pendant in his dazed state. Having admired Gu since a past banquet, she tends to him overnight before discreetly leaving. Gu mistakes a book left behind—owned by Xia Yunqiu—as proof of her identity and pledges to marry Xia, unaware Luo Sheng is his true savior. The Marshal's father, unimpressed by Xia's background and honoring an old bond with Luo's family, arranges Gu's marriage to Luo Sheng instead. In a twisted turn, Xia attempts to harm Luo Sheng but falls from a cliff herself. After marrying Luo Sheng, Gu Yanqing, still misled, subjects her to three years of torment. Stricken with tuberculosis and now pregnant, Luo Sheng endures further humiliation when pleading for her brother's safety. Xia Yunqiu reveals the rescue truth to Luo Sheng, fueling bitterness. Manipulating Gu, she causes Luo Sheng to be punished and framed for infidelity. After a miscarriage and false accusations, Luo Sheng is kidnapped and sold—only to be rescued by Gu. Presumed dead in a fire set by Xia, Luo Sheng is saved by Madame Nangong and returns as her heir, ""Lady Lisa,"" seeking revenge. She cleverly exposes Xia's schemes, leading to her imprisonment. Though Gu finally learns the truth and begs forgiveness, Luo Sheng remains cold—until he dies shielding her from an attack. In the end, she realizes her love for him never faded."
