Synopsis
Set in a small town in western England during the 19th century, The Six of St. Margaret’s follows six orphaned children who have built a fragile but loving family inside the crumbling St. Margaret’s orphanage. Led by the watchful Isaac, Margo, Pip, Finn, and Olive do whatever they can to protect Luna, a sickly girl whose greatest comfort is simply having everyone together. Their fragile world is threatened when railway expansion reaches the hill where the orphanage stands. Sterling, a powerful industrialist, wants the land for his development project. He promises a new home and desperately needed medical care for Luna, while secretly pressuring Helena—the children’s longtime guardian and keeper of the original deed—to surrender the property. As illness, manipulation, and misunderstanding tear at the trust holding the family together, the children are forced to confront loss far sooner than they should. What begins as a fight to save an old building becomes a deeper struggle over dignity, loyalty, and the meaning of home. Through grief, courage, and reconciliation, five children learn that family is not defined by blood or walls, but by those who choose to stay when the storm arrives.
